Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure ceramic wound dressing products that meet specified standards and specifications for use at Estcourt Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of quality wound dressings that are bacterial binding, non-medicated, absorptive, and conform to the detailed specifications provided, supporting effective wound care management.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply of 300 boxes of ceramic wound dressings, each measuring 45 x 200mm, to Estcourt Hospital. The procurement includes all related technical and administrative requirements, such as compliance with specifications, delivery to the designated hospital site, and adherence to relevant procurement policies and regulations.

Technical Requirements

• Product Description: Ceramic wound dressing, size 45 x 200mm
• Features: Bacterial binding, non-medicated, absorptive, hydrophobic outer layer, melt blown filter middle layer, skin-friendly non-woven inner layer
• Quality Standard: Good quality, compliant with specified standards and specifications
• Packaging: Packaged in boxes, with each box containing 5 dressings
• Sample: Required upon request for verification
• Specifications: Must meet the detailed specifications outlined in Annexure A, including size, material, and quality standards
• Compliance: Must conform to SANAS/SABS standards and be SASB approved

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Bidder must provide proof of previous supply of similar products through valid purchase orders
• Bidder must hold valid licenses issued by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) to manufacture or distribute medical devices
• Bidder must demonstrate capacity to deliver the specified quantity within the stipulated timeframe
• Bidder must complete all mandatory administrative and compliance documentation, including disclosures and certification of specifications
• Bidder must adhere to procurement policies, including preferential procurement and BBBEE requirements
• Ability to provide technical support and documentation as required
