Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the installation of IOF pump cables, including trenching, pipe jacking, cable laying, jointing, termination, pressure testing, and area tidiness, with a guarantee on cable joints for a minimum of 12 months. The project aims to ensure reliable medium voltage cable installation between IOF RMU and Scorpio substations within the specified timeframe.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Trenching and backfilling of soft or hard soil over approximately 300 meters.
• Laying of 300 meters of cable.
• Pipe jacking over 40 meters.
• Cable jointing and termination.
• Pressure testing of cables before and after jointing.
• Refilling and area cleanup post-completion, with quality checks by CoU’s representative.
• Guarantee of cable joints for at least 12 months.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the project include:

• Installation of medium voltage (MV) cables over 300 meters.
• Execution of cable jointing, termination, and pressure testing.
• Trenching and backfilling in various soil conditions.
• Pipe jacking for 40 meters.
• Ensuring the tidiness of the work area after completion.
• Providing a minimum 12-month guarantee on cable joints.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Suppliers must meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) with a valid CSD number.
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing for electrical works.
• Compliance with statutory regulations, including VAT and customs levies.
• Registration as an Electrical Contractor with the Department of Labour.
• Experience in similar cable installation projects, with evidence of at least three projects, including certificates or letters of completion.
• Possession of a CIDB grading of EP1 or above.
• Valid High Voltage Regulations Certificate.
