Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 300 boxes of sterile, high-quality wound dressing (15x20cm) that meet specified standards for medical use at King Dinuzulu Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of reliable wound care products that promote healing, manage exudate, and reduce infection risks, in compliance with local and international standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply of 300 boxes of wound dressing (15x20cm) as specified in the detailed technical requirements.
• Delivery of the wound dressings to the KDHC main foyer at 75 Dr Naidu Road, Sydenham, Durban.
• Provision of samples and brochures as part of the submission process.
• Adherence to specified standards, certification, and packaging requirements.
• Compliance with the evaluation and preference points system outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The wound dressing must:

• Be super absorbent with triple action: hydrocapillary, electrostatic, and Leva Fiber Technology.
• Manage exudate effectively, be layered if necessary, and support debridement.
• Remove bacteria, reduce infection risk, and promote wound healing.
• Be non-adherent, sterile, individually peel-packed with description on outer pack.
• Meet ISO 13485 standards, be MDSAP certified, FDA, and CE Marked.
• Size: 15 x 20cm, packaged in boxes of 10 units.
• Be tested against local and international standards for wound dressings.
• Be SAHPRA certified.

Skills Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying medical wound dressings or similar healthcare products to government or healthcare institutions.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and standards specified in the tender.
• Capacity to provide samples, brochures, and comply with packaging and delivery requirements.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission of correct documentation, samples, and adherence to deadlines.
• Understanding of compliance with health and safety standards, certification, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SAHPRA).
