Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver a Spill Kit to Midrand. The kit is intended for effective oil spill response and cleanup, ensuring safety and environmental protection in the specified location.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of a comprehensive spill response kit, including specific items such as wheelie bins, absorbent materials, protective masks, gloves, and instructional materials, all tailored to facilitate rapid deployment and efficient spill management at the Midrand depot.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of 2 rugged and mobile 240L wheelie bins for quick deployment.
• Provision of 1 polyethylene shovel (non-sparking) for safe oil spill cleanup.
• Inclusion of a dustpan and brush set for smaller spills.
• 10kg absorbent scatter capable of covering uneven surfaces.
• 2 Dromex FFP2 dust masks for respiratory protection.
• Heavy-duty industrial broom (300mm) for sweeping absorbents.
• Absorbent boom (2m x 150mm) for containing large spills.
• Oil absorbent pads (410mm x 500mm) with high capacity and fast wicking.
• Spill cleanup instruction booklet for step-by-step guidance.
• Pair of Dromex Nitrile gloves (Size 9) for chemical resistance.
• Five heavy-duty refuse bags (80 micron) for waste containment.
• Cable ties (200mm x 4.6mm) for secure packaging.

Skills and Other Requirements

• Suppliers must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• All submissions must be made via the e-tender portal; email submissions are not accepted.
• Suppliers should provide valid lease agreements or municipal accounts (not older than 3 months).
• Complete and submit all required MBD forms, including declarations of interest, bid practices, and independent bid determination.
• Provide valid BBBEE certificates or sworn affidavits to demonstrate BBBEE status.
• Ensure all quotations are on company letterhead, with email addresses visible, and submitted in PDF format.
• Demonstrate compliance with procurement policies and specific goals, such as ownership by women (51% or more).
• Include proof of company registration, ID copies of directors, and relevant company documents.
• Adhere to privacy and confidentiality requirements as per POPIA regulations.
