Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and install various fire safety equipment and signage at the designated site, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as SANS 1475-1:2010 and SABS 0105. The project aims to enhance safety measures through the provision of fire extinguishers, signage, safety posters, mobile smoking stations, and related materials, along with the necessary mounting and installation services.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of 9L lithium fire extinguishers with brackets.
• Provision of all mounting materials and concrete structures for signage and equipment.
• Supply of various safety signage, including indemnity signs, first aid signs, speed limit signs, emergency signs, stairway arrows, exit signs, and laminated posters.
• Provision of mobile ashtray pyramid smoking stations capable of holding 7000 cigarette butts.
• Provision of proof of artwork for signage and a mandatory safety file as a once-off service.

The delivery address is Cydna Laboratories, 75 4th Street, Houghton 2198. Refurbished hardware will not be accepted.

Technical Requirements

• Fire extinguishers must meet SANS 1475-1:2010 and SABS 0105 standards.
• Signage must be 900 x 600mm, 380 x 190mm, or 290 x 290mm, with photoluminescent features where specified.
• Signage must include poles or posts for mounting, with all mounting materials provided by the tenderer.
• Signage and equipment must be mounted securely at specified locations (first and second floors, stairways, exit doors).
• All artwork for signage must be approved and provided by the successful tenderer.
• The safety file must be submitted as a mandatory, once-off service, indicating a line item on the quote.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified and experienced service providers capable of supplying and installing fire safety equipment and signage according to relevant standards.
• Ability to provide all necessary mounting materials and concrete structures for signage installation.
• Proficiency in artwork preparation and submission for signage approval.
• Compliance with safety and health regulations, including the preparation and submission of a comprehensive safety file.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and adherence to procurement policies.
• Understanding of procurement procedures, including submission via the e-tender portal and compliance with BBBEE and regional goals.
