Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver tools as specified in the procurement document, ensuring quality and compliance with Johannesburg Water's requirements. Additionally, there is a specific goal to promote SMMEs (EMEs or QSEs) that are at least 51% black-owned by Black People, aligning with the broader procurement policy and transformation objectives.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various tools such as:

• Round Nose Open Socket Shovel (230mm width x 600mm length, steel shaft, varnished wooden handle)
• Plastering Trowel (350mm, forged, carbon steel with hard end, anti-slip plastic handle)
• Steel Disc Cutting Tools (230 x 3 x 22.23mm, EN 12413)
• Masonry Disc Cutting Tools (230 x 22.23 x 3mm, EN 12413)

The delivery is to be made to Johannesburg Water's specified locations within the required quantities and standards.

Technical Requirements

The tools must meet the following technical standards:

• Tools must be approved as per the specifications listed in the procurement document.
• Tools should be suitable for their intended use, durable, and conform to relevant safety and quality standards (e.g., EN 12413 for cutting discs).
• Tools must be supplied with appropriate handles (wooden or plastic) as specified.
• All tools must be new, unused, and compliant with the specified dimensions and material quality.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

While the tender primarily focuses on the supply of tools, bidders should demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying tools to large municipal or industrial clients.
• Capacity to deliver the specified quantities within the stipulated timeframe.
• Ability to provide quality assurance and compliance documentation.
• Understanding of procurement policies, including BBBEE and preferential procurement regulations.
• Compliance with Johannesburg Water’s supply chain policies and relevant legislation.
