Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of air conditioners at Hlengisizwe CHC. The aim is to ensure that all air conditioning units are maintained in optimal working condition through regular preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections, thereby ensuring a comfortable and safe environment within the facility.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair of various air conditioning units across different departments and locations within Hlengisizwe CHC and associated clinics.
• Inspection and testing of units for operational efficiency, noise, vibration, refrigerant leaks, electrical components, and cleanliness.
• Replacement or re-gassing of refrigerants, supply and installation of remote controls, and other necessary repairs.
• Provision of detailed inspection reports and quotations for additional repairs if needed.
• Compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the servicing include:

• Inspection of units for noise, vibration, and refrigerant leaks.
• Checking electrical components such as capacitors, thermostats, and overloads.
• Cleaning of coils, filters, sensors, and condensate drains.
• Re-gassing units where necessary.
• Supply and installation of remote controls for wall-mounted units.
• Providing detailed reports on the condition of each unit and additional repairs needed.
• Use of SABs approved materials and components, with all work complying with Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant standards.
• Submission of all required documentation, including CIDB registration, proof of qualification, and detailed bills of quantities.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified refrigeration technicians registered with SAQCC Gas or equivalent authority.
• CIDB grading of at least 1ME or higher for relevant work.
• Proven experience in servicing and repairing air conditioning units, particularly in healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of local authority regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
• Ability to provide detailed inspection reports and quotations for additional repairs.
• Capability to supply and install remote controls and perform refrigerant re-gassing.
• Competence in handling refrigerants and other hazardous materials safely and in accordance with regulations.
