Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the refurbishment of ablution facilities, the main office foyer area, and workshop areas within the Johannesburg Water facilities. The aim is to upgrade and improve the functionality, safety, and aesthetics of these areas to meet operational standards and client requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Refurbishment of ablution facilities for both male and female users, including replacement of toilets, basin taps, shower mixers, and tiles.
• Refurbishment of the main office foyer area, including ceiling repairs, painting, and installation of suspended ceiling panels and aluminum doors.
• Refurbishment of workshop areas, including flooring, doors, burglar gates, and passageways.
• Installation of new fixtures such as burglar gate locks, burglar gates, and handles.
• Provision of scaffolding, safety files, and other safety measures during construction.
• Compliance with CIDB grading requirements and other technical specifications as detailed in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Contractor CIDB grading of 1 GB or higher.
• Adherence to specifications for refurbishment works, including the use of specified materials such as vinyl flooring, tiles, and ceiling panels.
• Completion of all works within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Provision of all necessary safety measures, including scaffolding and safety files.
• Compliance with Johannesburg Water’s supply chain policies and procurement regulations.
• Submission of all required documentation, including valid tax clearance, BBBEE certificates, municipal accounts, and relevant declarations.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in refurbishment and construction projects, particularly in public or municipal facilities.
• Competence in executing works that meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Ability to manage safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Knowledge of procurement and compliance with CIDB grading requirements.
• Capacity to provide qualified personnel with relevant skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general construction.
• Proficiency in project management to ensure timely completion and adherence to specifications.
