Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the maintenance and servicing of air conditioners at clinics operated by St Margarets CHC. The aim is to ensure that the air conditioning systems function efficiently, maintain proper temperature control, and adhere to specified standards to support a conducive healthcare environment.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of comprehensive servicing and maintenance of split air conditioning units across multiple clinics, including:

• Checking refrigerant levels and adjustments
• Cleaning evaporator coils and filters
• Inspecting and adjusting controls, valves, and belts
• Cleaning drip pans and flushing drain lines
• Checking electrical connections and power supply
• Inspecting and repairing gas leaks and re-gassing units
• Spraying moving parts with approved products
• Verifying and ensuring proper operation of dust diffusers and return air grills
• Providing necessary documentation, proof of previous work, and compliance with specifications

The services are to be performed periodically, with completion expected within specified timeframes, and in accordance with technical and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

• Servicing of split air conditioners including refrigerant checks, coil cleaning, and control adjustments
• Inspection and repair of gas leaks, re-gassing, and electrical connections
• Cleaning of filters, drip pans, and drain lines with chlorine tablets
• Ensuring all components operate within specified standards and safety protocols
• Provision of proof of compliance with SABS or SANS standards
• Submission of relevant certifications such as CIDB (EB/ME), CSD registration, and previous project proof
• Adherence to the specified schedule of rates and completion within the agreed timeframe

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technicians with CIDB certification (EB/ME)
• Experience in servicing split air conditioning systems in healthcare or similar environments
• Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, and safety standards
• Ability to conduct inspections, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with technical specifications
• Competence in preparing and submitting compliance documentation and proof of previous work
• Effective communication skills for reporting and coordination with health facility staff
