Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and offload electrical components in accordance with Eskom's requirements and standards. The supplier must ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and demonstrate the ability to manage contractors and suppliers effectively to uphold Eskom's safety and quality standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement and delivery of electrical components, including the management of associated contractors and suppliers. The supplier is responsible for ensuring all personnel involved are adequately inducted and compliant with Eskom's OHS policies. The scope also involves monitoring and auditing contractor activities to ensure ongoing compliance during contract execution.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and Compensation for Occupational Diseases and Illnesses Act 130 of 1993.
• Full alignment of the company’s processes with Eskom’s OHS policies, procedures, and standards post-contract award.
• Implementation of a process for the selection, notification, and management of contractors and suppliers, ensuring they possess adequate resources and competencies.
• Provision of documentation such as testimonials and references for similar completed projects, including contact details.
• Monitoring and auditing of contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with legal and Eskom OHS requirements.
• Enforcement of penalties for non-conformance related to OHS requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• Understanding and compliance with relevant occupational health and safety legislation and Eskom’s OHS policies.
• Ability to demonstrate effective contractor and supplier management processes, including selection, notification, and resource assessment.
• Capability to monitor, audit, and enforce compliance among contractors and suppliers.
• Experience in managing occupational health and safety risks associated with electrical component supply and delivery.
• Competence in documentation and record-keeping related to safety compliance and contractor management.
• Effective communication skills to ensure all employees and contractors are inducted and aware of safety requirements.
