Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of infusion pumps to Itshelejuba Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The aim is to acquire high-quality, reliable infusion pumps that meet specified technical standards to support hospital operations and patient care.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of nine (09) infusion pumps, including their delivery, installation, testing, calibration, and demonstration at Itshelejuba Hospital. The contract is for a one-time supply with a validity period of 90 days, and the equipment must comply with detailed specifications and standards outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• The infusion pumps must be hospital-grade, electronic, accurate, reliable, and user-friendly.
• Units must be capable of non-invasive blood pressure measurement with optional built-in temperature measurement and mobile stand.
• Devices should measure systolic, diastolic, and pulse, with immediate display of measurement data.
• The pumps must operate off 220V ±10%, 50Hz AC supply, with an internal rechargeable battery providing at least 100 measurements per charge.
• Supplied cuffs include adult, large adult, and paediatric sizes, with the option for built-in temperature measurement (rectal, oral, axillary).
• Equipment must meet international safety standards (IEC 60601-1, 60601-1-2), be CE certified, and comply with SANS/SABS specifications.
• Suppliers must provide manuals, calibration software, and spare parts for a specified period.
• Guarantee period of at least 12 months, with options for extended warranty and comprehensive maintenance agreements.
• All accessories, optional features, and optional mobile stand must be quoted separately with prices inclusive of VAT.

Skills Requirements

• Proven technical capability in manufacturing, supplying, and servicing medical electronic equipment.
• Qualified technicians trained by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs.
• Availability of a well-established service and repair facility within KwaZulu-Natal, capable of providing timely support (within 24 hours).
• Demonstrated experience in providing technical training and ongoing support to hospital staff and technicians.
• Compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including Radiation Control licensing if applicable.
