Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of up to five (5) qualified service providers to acquire and manage sponsorships for the South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTAs) and other projects of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF). The appointed providers will be responsible for sourcing sponsorships, managing sponsor relationships, and ensuring that all sponsor commitments are fulfilled over a period of three (3) years.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Applying best practices in sponsorship acquisition and management.
• Collaborating with NFVF’s internal SAFTAs team to develop sponsorship strategies.
• Developing and reviewing sponsorship packages and proposals.
• Sourcing and securing sponsors, including revising existing sponsor databases.
• Managing sponsor contracts and ensuring realization of benefits.
• Overseeing sponsor activities on-site and during events.
• Providing continuous reporting on sponsorship activities.

Minimum sponsorship value to be raised per agency is R2 million, excluding in-kind contributions.

Technical Requirements

• Proposals must demonstrate sound sponsorship acquisition strategies, including prospect identification, tiered sponsorship packages, and phased project plans.
• Review and enhance existing sponsorship packages and develop new ones.
• Maintain an accurate and comprehensive sponsor database.
• Manage sponsor participation, benefits realization, and contractual obligations.
• Provide regular progress reports on sponsorship sourcing and management.
• Achieve a minimum sponsorship target of R2 million per agency.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual, reporting, and documentation standards.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in sponsorship acquisition and management, with demonstrated success in sourcing sponsorships of at least R2 million.
• Ability to develop compelling sponsorship packages and proposals.
• Strong network and relationships within relevant industries and potential sponsors.
• Excellent project management and collaboration skills.
• Capacity to provide detailed reporting and performance tracking.
• Knowledge of the South African film and television industry is advantageous.
• Compliance with all mandatory documentation and legal requirements, including B-BBEE status and tax compliance.
