Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to conduct topographical surveying services at eleven (11) schools with circuit offices in Limpopo Province. The surveys aim to gather detailed spatial and site information necessary for infrastructure development, including boundary delineation, contour mapping, and site details to support construction and planning activities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Undertaking comprehensive topographical surveys at each school site using survey-grade GPS or total station equipment.
• Collecting data on contours, site features, services, and existing infrastructure with specified accuracy levels.
• Placing and documenting benchmarks and control points, including setting concrete benchmarks.
• Mapping cadastral boundaries, property details, and land use information.
• Identifying and recording features such as buildings, roads, wetlands, graves, and other site objects.
• Providing survey reports signed by a SAGC-registered land surveyor or survey technologist.
• Completing competent person certificates as part of submission documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that the service provider must:

• Deploy survey-grade GPS or total station equipment capable of achieving point accuracy within 50mm.
• Conduct contour surveys with 0.5m interval and 20m grid spacing or at breaklines and slope changes.
• Perform tachymetric surveys of site details, services, and features, ensuring connection to the WGS84 coordinate system and heights to MSL.
• Set and document at least three concrete benchmarks and prepare a control list of benchmarks.
• Show full property cadastral boundaries, land use, and relevant site features on drawings.
• Ensure all objects, buildings, and site features are clearly identified and mapped.
• Provide survey reports signed by qualified professionals.
• Complete competent person certificates for each survey.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires that the service provider:

• Has professionals registered with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC), specifically Professional Land Surveyors.
• Employs qualified survey personnel with relevant experience and technical expertise in topographical surveying.
• Provides a team comprising key professionals such as a SAGC-registered Land Surveyor and assistants with appropriate qualifications.
• Demonstrates capacity to complete surveys within the stipulated 21-calendar-day period, deploying adequate resources.
• Attends a compulsory kick-off meeting with TMT and remains involved throughout the project.
• Provides CVs and proof of professional registration for proposed team members.
• Ensures all personnel involved are fully involved and available for the duration of the project.
