Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and cast a ready-mix concrete slab in the courtyard at NICD, NHLS Sandringham Campus. The project aims to ensure the provision of a durable concrete slab that meets specified technical standards and quality requirements, supporting the operational needs of the facility.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of ready-mix concrete suitable for casting a slab in the designated courtyard area.
• Delivery of the concrete to the NICD Sandringham Campus site.
• Casting and finishing of the concrete slab on-site as per technical specifications.
• Site inspection, preparation, and compliance with all safety and quality standards.

The work must be carried out in accordance with the detailed specifications, standards, and conditions outlined in the tender documentation, including site inspections and adherence to scheduled timelines.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of approved ready-mix concrete compliant with specified strength and durability standards.
• Proper delivery and placement procedures to ensure concrete integrity and surface finish.
• Compliance with all relevant standards such as SABS and national building codes.
• Site preparation, including inspection and assessment during the compulsory briefing session.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations during execution.
• Provision of all necessary equipment, supervision, and materials for casting the slab.
• Completion of work within the stipulated schedule, with quality control measures in place.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• CIDB registration in at least grade 1CE or higher, indicating relevant construction experience.
• Proven experience in delivering similar concrete works, supported by reference letters and completion certificates.
• Qualified personnel including a Project Manager or Site Agent with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
• Skilled and registered professionals such as qualified concrete technicians, site supervisors, and experienced tradespeople.
• Capability to manage site safety, quality assurance, and project timelines effectively.
• Ability to coordinate with other contractors and stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution.

All personnel involved must possess the necessary qualifications, certifications, and experience to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
