Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the after-service repairs of HVAC systems in Zone 2 at Victoria Mxenge Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to restore and maintain the functionality of HVAC units through qualified repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of HVAC after-service repairs at Victoria Mxenge Hospital, covering various units and components such as AHUs, condensers, filters, control systems, and refrigerant systems. The work involves repairs, replacements, commissioning, and ensuring units are fully operational, as detailed in the specifications and work plans.

Technical Requirements

• Restoration and repair of HVAC units including PCB boards, contactors, filters, gas leaks, control issues, and mechanical components.
• Replacement of specific parts such as expansion valves, pressure switches, filters, and locks.
• Commissioning of repaired units to ensure full functionality.
• Electronic registration and email proof of refrigeration certificates of compliance.
• Adherence to safety standards, including submission of safety files, risk assessments, and competency certificates.
• Completion of detailed work plans, daily job sheets, and after-service reports.
• Provision of guarantees: 12 months for new items and 6 months for repairs.
• Compliance with the specifications outlined in the tender documents and addenda.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified trade-tested electricians and instrumentation technicians with certified CVs.
• Experience in HVAC system repairs, including electronic and mechanical components.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, work plans, and safety procedures.
• Competence in handling refrigerants, gas leak repairs, and system commissioning.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, including PPE, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in completing detailed reports, work schedules, and compliance documentation.
• Effective communication skills for site briefing, reporting faults, and handover procedures.
