Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure garden cleaning services for the Forensic Chemistry Laboratories in Pretoria and Johannesburg for a period of 12 months. The services aim to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory environments, including gutter cleaning, weed removal, pavement sweeping, tree trimming, and related gardening activities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Cleaning of gutters monthly across both locations.
• Removal of weeds inside yards and outside gates monthly.
• Sweeping pavements and disposing of waste monthly.
• Trimming trees along fences and around yards monthly, including tree felling when required.
• Removal of large tree branches and roots as needed.
• Mowing all grass areas monthly.
• Cleaning of gutters and leaves from roofs monthly.

The services are to be provided at the following locations:

• Pretoria Forensic Chemistry Laboratory, 271 Visagie Street, Pretoria.
• Johannesburg Forensic Chemistry Laboratory, 2 Kotze Street, Braamfontein.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications specify the following:

• Cleaning gutters, weed removal, pavement sweeping, and waste disposal on a monthly basis.
• Tree trimming and felling along fences and yards, including removal of large branches and roots.
• Mowing grass areas and removing dead foliage from drains and yards.
• Cleaning gutters and leaves from roofs.

Quantities and sizes are detailed for each activity, with specific measurements provided for each location. The contractor must include transport and labor costs, and ensure all work adheres to the specified standards and schedules.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in garden and landscaping services, including gutter cleaning, weed removal, tree trimming, and general gardening.
• Ability to handle tree felling and removal of large branches and roots safely and effectively.
• Provision of qualified personnel capable of executing the scope of work as specified.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including providing a valid letter of good standing (COIDA).
• Capability to manage and execute scheduled maintenance activities consistently over the 12-month period.
