Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install two LED microscopes with cameras at the NHLS Umtata Histology Laboratory. The project aims to enhance histology diagnostic capabilities through the provision of high-quality microscopy equipment, including digital imaging features, to support pathology services.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of 2 LED microscopes with integrated cameras suitable for histology applications.
• Delivery of the microscopes to NHLS Umtata.
• Installation and commissioning of the equipment on-site.
• Provision of training on the operation and maintenance of the microscopes.
• Post-installation support including sales service and annual maintenance for five years.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the microscopes include:

• LED light source with a minimum warranty of 12 months.
• Trinocular observation tube capable of supporting a digital camera for basic imaging.
• Eyepiece of 10x magnification with a viewing angle of 30 degrees.
• Adjustable pupil distance between 48-75mm.
• ABBÉ condenser.
• Switching objectives with minimum magnifications of 20x, 40x, and 100x oil immersion.
• Delivery within 6 weeks of contract award.
• English operator manual included.
• Installation, commissioning, and onsite training by the supplier.
• Support for sales service and annual maintenance for 5 years.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying and installing microscopy equipment, preferably in a histology or pathology setting.
• Ability to provide technical support, training, and after-sales service.
• Provision of references for similar contracts completed successfully.
• Qualified personnel capable of installation, calibration, and training on the microscopes.
• Compliance with technical specifications and delivery timelines.
