Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the annual service of the fire system at Mosvold Hospital, ensuring that fire safety equipment is maintained, inspected, and serviced in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Complete inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of fire-fighting equipment such as fire extinguishers, hose reels, and fire hoses across various locations within Mosvold Hospital.
• Replacement of equipment components with similar units on loan during servicing.
• Adherence to standards such as SANS 1475-1, 1475-105, 1475-019, and 1576.
• Provision of certificates, labels, and documentation confirming compliance and service completion.
• Emergency repairs and routine maintenance as required, including pressure testing and replacement of damaged parts.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with SANS 1475-1 and related standards for fire extinguisher servicing.
• Use of qualified technicians registered with SAQCC Fire, possessing valid certificates.
• Provision of traceable completion certificates, service logs, and certificates of compliance.
• Pressure testing of CO2 units every five years and other units every three years.
• Proper packing, labeling, and documentation during servicing.
• Availability of replacement parts, spares, and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and standards.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• CIDB grading of 1SF or above.
• Certified technicians registered with SAQCC Fire, competent to service fire equipment.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining fire safety systems in healthcare or similar environments.
• Ability to provide detailed service schedules, certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Capacity to perform emergency repairs promptly within 24 hours of notification.
• Provision of references or proof of previous similar work undertaken successfully.
