Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver FPS (Forensic Pathology Services) uniforms, including coveralls, jackets, hats, beanies, and related PPE items, to various institutions within the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The aim is to ensure the provision of standardized, high-quality protective clothing that meets specified standards and specifications, supporting the safety and operational needs of forensic and medical personnel.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of:

• 210 units of FPS uniforms, including coveralls, jackets, hats, and beanies, as detailed in the specifications.
• All related accessories and components such as reflective tapes, embroidery, and water-resistant finishes.
• Uniforms must conform to detailed specifications, standards, and sizes outlined in the annexure and specification forms.
• Delivery to specified institutions, including the Ladysmith Medico Legal Mortuary, Estcourt Medico Legal Mortuary, and other designated facilities.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Uniforms must meet the detailed specifications provided, including fabric composition (e.g., 65% polyester, 35% viscose), water resistance, and high visibility reflective tape.
• Design features such as detachable sleeves, embroidered logos, reflective tapes, and specific style elements (e.g., zip-off hoods, storm flaps, pockets).
• Uniforms must comply with relevant standards such as SANS 1362, SANS 1823, SANS 1822, SANS 50741, and SANS 142.
• All components (e.g., embroidery threads, fasteners, webbing) must meet specified standards and quality standards.
• Uniforms must be supplied in specified sizes with detailed measurement charts.
• Delivery must be timely, with adherence to the specified delivery schedule and conditions.

Skills and Capabilities Requirements

Potential bidders must demonstrate:

• Proven capacity to manufacture or supply PPE and uniforms that meet detailed technical specifications and standards.
• Experience in delivering similar quantities within stipulated timeframes.
• Ability to provide quality assurance, including samples for evaluation and compliance with specifications.
• Capability to produce embroidered and water-resistant uniforms with high visibility features.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preference points for South African owned enterprises and BBBEE status.
• Proper logistical and delivery capacity to ensure timely distribution to multiple locations.
