To procure and deliver one automatic tablet counting machine to support pharmaceutical operations at the designated community health centre. The primary aim is to ensure accurate, efficient, and reliable medication dispensing through compliant medical equipment.
The contract encompasses the supply, delivery, and handover of a single tablet counting machine to the specified health facility. It includes strict adherence to technical specifications, provision of a one-year warranty, compliance with national safety and quality standards, and participation in a post-evaluation sample verification process. Delivery must be completed within the stipulated timeframe, with all associated transport and handling costs covered by the supplier.
No specialised technical or professional skills are explicitly mandated, as this is a standard goods supply contract. Suppliers are expected to demonstrate basic commercial capacity, including logistics management, regulatory compliance, and coordination of after-sales support and warranty servicing.
Preference Procurement System: An 80/20 scoring model applies, where 20 points are exclusively allocated to companies that are at least 51% owned by Black women. Full documentary proof of ownership is required to claim these points.
Mandatory Sample Submission: The top three scoring bidders will be required to submit physical samples for verification. Failure to provide a compliant sample may result in disqualification or escalation to the next highest scorers.
Regulatory Licensing: Bidders must hold a valid licence from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) authorising the manufacture, wholesale, or distribution of medical devices.
Penalty Clauses: Late deliveries incur financial penalties calculated at the current prime interest rate per day of delay. Contracts may be terminated for default, non-compliance, or fraudulent practices, with potential restrictions on future public sector contracting.
Pricing & Validity: All quotes must be firm, inclusive of VAT (if applicable), and cover full delivery costs. Expired or second-hand goods are strictly prohibited, and quotations remain valid for 90 days.

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.
Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements
To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting
