MUNICIPAL INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT AGENT INVITES TENDERS FOR APPOINTMENT OF A MECHANICAL AND
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR FOR THE REPAIR, REFURBISHMENT AND UPGRADE OF UMTHAMVUNA WATER TREATMENT
WORKS AND PUMP STATION, UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, KWAZULU-NATAL.
It is estimated that tenderers should have a cidb contractor grading of 3ME or higher.
Only tenderers who ONLY those tenderers who satisfy the following ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA and who provide the required evidence in
their tender submissions, are eligible to submit tenders and have their tenders evaluated:
The tenderer:
1)Only those tenderers who are registered with the CIDB, or are capable of being so prior to the evaluation of submissions, in a
contractor grading designation equal to or higher than a contractor grading designation determined in accordance with the sum
tendered, or a value determined in accordance with Regulation 25 (1B) or 25(7A) of the Construction Industry Development
Regulations, for a 3ME Or Higher class of construction work, are eligible to have their tenders evaluated. Joint ventures are eligible to
submit tenders provided that:
a)every member of the joint venture is registered with the CIDB;
b)the lead partner has a contractor grading designation in the 3ME Or Higher class of construction work; or not lower than one level
below the required grading designation in the class of works construction works under considerations and possess the required
recognition status.
c)the combined contractor grading designation calculated in accordance with the Construction Industry Development Regulations is
equal to or higher than a contractor grading designation determined in accordance with the sum tendered for a 3ME Or Higher class of
construction work or a value determined in accordance with Regulation 25 (1B) or 25(7A) of the Construction Industry Development
Regulations.
2)In case of a Joint Venture/ Consortium submission, shall submit a Joint Venture Agreement signed by all parties and a valid
combined CIDB Grading Certificate.
3)Bidders must attend a compulsory briefing meeting and sign the attendance register.
4)Bill of quantities or Pricing schedule and or Form of offer/Total tender amount shall be completed in all respect and shall not contain
erasable ink or correction fluid on them. Any wrong entry, in case of correction, must be cancelled by a single stroke and initialled by
the Authorised signatory.
5)Only Tenderers who have the following resources must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional
Engineering Technologist and the demonstration of a minimum 5years relevant experience in Water and Sanitation services (Attach
proof of valid ECSA registration Certificate, CV and Qualification for each resource):
•Electrical Engineer (Contract Manager)
•Mechanical Engineer are eligible to submit tenders.
