Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to implement the Bluff Ecosystem Restoration Program over a period of 36 months. The program aims to restore and enhance the local ecosystem, ensuring environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation within the specified area.

Scope

The scope of the project includes:

• Carrying out ecosystem restoration activities as outlined in the project plan.
• Conducting environmental assessments and risk evaluations.
• Developing and implementing safe working procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Managing project activities in accordance with municipal and legal requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Preparation of a health and safety file for approval by the Occupational Health and Safety Unit.
• Conducting activity risk assessments and developing written safe working procedures.
• Training employees on risk assessments and safe work practices.
• Ensuring vehicles are in good working condition and safe for use.
• Ensuring all employees have valid medical certificates of fitness.
• Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees.
• Adherence to safety precautions when working at heights, including proper ladder safety.
• Obtaining Permit to Work from the Building Supervisor before commencing work.
• Familiarity and compliance with the eThekwini Municipality Emergency Evacuation Plan.
• Registration and good standing with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Commissioner.
