  1. Introduction
Glenstantia Primary invites experienced and competent solar electrical system installers to submit an expression of interest and estimate to install the first phase of a solar backup power solution to keep the school operational during power outages (whether due to load shedding or power failures). The first phase will be to supply power to the Administration Building and essential loads e.g. servers and security systems.
  1. Purpose of the EOI
This Expression of Interest (EOI) represents the first phase of a two-stage procurement process. Its purpose is to pre-qualify and identify vendors with the necessary technical capabilities, relevant experience, regulatory compliance, and a cost estimate to undertake the project.
  1. Scope of Work

  • Phase 1
The phase 1 requirement is for a solar backup solution with the following capacity:
  • Bi-Directional Inverter 40 to 50kVA, PV capacity or at least 60kW (peak), and Battery Storage between 180 and 200 kWh.
  • Provision should be made for some clean-up of the wiring of the electrical distribution board (DB) of the Admin Building to enable load separation of feeds to sub-DBs serving other buildings.
  • Preference will be given to a solution that incorporates some form of automated load measurement and -management so that e.g. sub-DBs can be powered to e.g. utilise excess PV power, but disconnected when e.g. there is a municipal power failure and limited PV power available.

  • Future Phases
The phase 1 solution should make provision for future expansion phase(s) to power the whole school, with a possible future total demand of: 100kVA Inverter, 150kWp PV and 400 kWh storage.   The long term vision is to enable smart load measurement and smart load management for the whole school. Preference will be given to a phase 1 solution that incorporates or are compatible with smart load measurement and/or smart load management.

Joint Ventures, Consortia and Subcontracting:

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.

Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements

To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting

You will need to supply your details on every tender you are interested in tendering for. For this you need an active Business Listing - Register and Login at My Account to create a Business Listing

NOTE: This is not a tender application form, it is meant to facilitate the meeting of partners to form a Joint Venture or Subcontractor relationship for this tender only
