The primary objective of this tender is to appoint emerging contractors capable of undertaking the construction of low-income housing units and associated civil works within the Knysna Municipal Area. The project aims to deliver various types of affordable housing, including double-storey and single-storey units, as well as related infrastructure such as retaining walls, platforming, minor concrete and civil works, and asbestos roof removal over a period of 15 months.

The works are to be completed within the Knysna Municipal Area over a period of 15 months.
Contractors must demonstrate the capability to deliver construction projects adhering to relevant building standards and safety regulations. They should be experienced in low-income housing projects, asbestos removal, and civil engineering works. The contractor must also be able to manage the procurement and use of appropriate materials and labour to meet project specifications and timelines.
