Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to hire chemical toilets for Bergrivier Municipality for a period spanning from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029. The aim is to ensure the provision of adequate sanitation facilities across various locations within the municipal area, with options for different types of toilets including flushable, non-flushable, heavy-duty, VIP units, and wheelchair accessible units. The service includes delivery, servicing, maintenance, and waste disposal to support municipal events, infrastructure needs, and public health requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of various types of chemical toilets, including VIP and wheelchair accessible units.
• Delivery and installation at designated sites within the Bergrivier municipal area.
• Regular servicing and maintenance, including waste removal and sanitation, with specified frequencies based on usage and duration.
• Disposal of chemical waste at approved discharge points.
• Provision of units for extended periods, with options for daily and monthly hire rates.
• Provision of units for special events, with appropriate servicing schedules.
• Supply of units with specified features such as lockable doors, ventilation, non-slip flooring, and durable, non-flammable materials.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Units must be made of high-density polyethylene, resistant to high and low temperatures, and non-flammable.
• Dimensions: approximately 1.01m wide x 1.2m long x 2m high; weight should allow easy movement.
• Water tanks capacity: 10-20 liters; sewage tanks should be concealed and odor-neutralized with ventilation systems.
• Flushable units must operate foot-pump mechanisms; chemical waste must be safely disposed of and units sanitized regularly.
• VIP units should include features such as mirrors, windows, sanitizer dispensers, handwash basins, and locking mechanisms.
• Servicing must occur at least twice weekly for long-term leases and daily during special events.
• Units must be installed on flat, even surfaces, and area clearance must be ensured prior to installation.
• All units must be in good condition, with repairs carried out within 24 hours of notification.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The contractor must demonstrate:

• At least 10 years of experience in providing chemical toilet services or similar sanitation solutions.
• Capability to supply, install, and maintain a variety of toilet units, including VIP and wheelchair accessible units.
• Proven ability to deliver and service units across multiple locations within the municipal area, adhering to specified schedules.
• Qualified personnel for installation, servicing, and waste disposal operations.
• Capacity to manage logistics for delivery, maintenance, and waste removal, including emergency repairs within 24 hours.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper waste disposal and unit sanitation standards.
• Ability to provide references from at least five clients for similar services, with letters of recommendation not older than two years.
