Tender Summary: Mganimbobo Water Supply

Objectives

The primary objective is to establish a sustainable and reliable municipal water supply infrastructure for the Mganimbobo region by delivering comprehensive reticulation networks, storage facilities, and extraction systems.

Scope of Works

The contract encompasses the construction and installation of the following components:

• Approximately 40,000 metres of pipeline network utilising 20–110mm HDPE and 160mm uPVC materials, complete with control valves and access chambers.
• Two ground-level concrete reservoirs with capacities of 100 kilolitres and 150 kilolitres.
• One 300 kilolitre elevated steel storage tank.
• A borehole pumping and extraction system.
• Perimeter fencing, site access roads, and all necessary mechanical and civil fittings.

Technical Requirements

• Contractor Grading: A minimum CIDB Grade 7 CE (Civil Engineering) or higher is mandatory.
• Submission Format: Tenders must be fully completed, signed, physically sealed in an envelope clearly marked with the reference number and closing date, and deposited into the designated municipal tender box by the stipulated deadline. Electronic, telegraphic, faxed, or postal submissions are explicitly rejected.

• Key Personnel Qualifications: A Construction Manager and Full-Time Site Agent must hold a National Diploma in Civil Engineering, supported by documented field experience (minimum three years required for baseline scoring, with higher awards for extended experience).
• Machinery Access: Valid proof of ownership or binding lease agreements must be provided for critical plant equipment, specifically excavators, TLBs, tipper trucks, water tankers, graders, and rollers.
• Financial Stability: Applicants must furnish an official bank rating confirming adequate financial capacity to execute the tendered construction value.
