Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and install an automated Cell Imaging System at the George Mukhari Academic Laboratory. The system should enhance laboratory workflow, reduce manual tasks, improve turnaround times, and ultimately contribute to better patient outcomes. The system must include ongoing service and maintenance for a period of five (5) years to ensure reliable operation.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of the automated cell imaging instrumentation, consumables, application support, and maintenance services. The laboratory requires the system to handle specific tests such as conventional karyotyping and FISH, with an estimated annual volume of 1,100 tests. The scope also includes training, installation, and ongoing support to ensure optimal system performance.

Technical Requirements

• The imaging system must include high-resolution cameras (minimum 12 megapixels), automated scanning, and analysis capabilities.
• The system should support four analysis stations for conventional karyotyping and two for FISH, with appropriate software and workstations.
• Features such as automatic oil dispensers with drop counting, slide capacity (>20 slides), image export functionality, and UPS with at least 60 minutes backup are mandatory.
• The system must be ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 compliant, and approved by relevant IMDRF regulatory authorities.
• Support for user training, software upgrades at no additional cost, cloud data backup, and remote support are required.
• The system should include maintenance support, spare parts, and warranty coverage for at least 12 months post-delivery.
• Delivery period: 8-12 weeks after contract award.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and supporting automated cell imaging systems in a laboratory environment.
• Technical expertise in system installation, calibration, and maintenance, including trained application specialists.
• Capability to provide comprehensive user training, both on-site and post-installation, with certification.
• Support team availability within Gauteng region, with telephonic response within 4 hours and on-site support within 48 hours.
• Ability to provide ongoing software updates, remote data management, and technical support.
• Compliance with ISO standards and regulatory approvals relevant to medical laboratory equipment.
• Demonstrated capacity to deliver and support the system over the five-year maintenance period, including spare parts and warranty services.
