Objectives

The primary objectives of the tender are to undertake the construction of the Plazini Access Road in Ward 14, including related infrastructure such as drainage, pavements, gabions, signage, and associated services. The project aims to improve road accessibility, safety, and infrastructure resilience in the specified area.

Scope

The scope encompasses a comprehensive range of construction activities, including:

• General requirements and provisions for community liaison, environmental, health & safety compliance, and site management.
• Construction of access roads with mass earthworks, gravel pavement layers, and associated drainage systems.
• Installation of prefabricated culverts, gabions, and concrete structures such as slabs, walls, and bollards.
• Provision of housing, offices, and laboratories for engineer personnel.
• Traffic accommodation, signage, and road marking.
• Overhaul, clearing, grubbing, dayworks, and testing of workmanship and materials.
• Additional services including surveying, geotechnical, environmental impact assessments, and disbursements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with environmental management plans and occupational health & safety regulations.
• Excavation and backfilling in soft and hard materials, including inlets, outlets, and hydraulic structures.
• Construction of concrete structures with specified classes and reinforcement, including slabs, wing walls, culverts, and bollards.
• Installation of gabions, drainage systems, and road signs with appropriate supports and backfilling.
• Mass earthworks with specified compaction levels and excavation depths.
• Pavement layers of gravel material with specified compaction and quality, including gravel taken from borrow pits and commercial sources.
• Concrete pavement and structural concrete with specified classes, curing, joints, and reinforcement.
• Overhaul and testing of workmanship and materials as per specified standards.
