Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver social relief materials, including sponge, blankets, roll plastic sheeting, boxes, and recovery materials, to the Umzimkhulu Local Municipality for a 12-month contract period. The aim is to provide essential relief items efficiently and in accordance with specified standards to support community needs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of various social relief items as detailed in the specifications. These include:

• Blankets (double size, 200cm x 240cm)
• Sponges (three-quarter size, 107cm x 188cm)
• Roll plastic sheeting (2m x 30m, black, 250 micron)
• Emergency Box B containing essential utensils and equipment
• Recovery materials such as corrugated iron, nails, timber, steel frames, doors, etc.

The delivery must meet the technical and quality standards specified, with the contract duration set for 12 months.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with the detailed specifications for each item (e.g., size, material, quality standards such as SABS compliance for plastic sheeting)
• Provision of items on time and in good condition
• Adherence to the specified delivery schedule and quantities
• Provision of supporting documentation such as certificates of authority, municipal utility bills, lease agreements, and affidavits where applicable
• Participation in a compulsory briefing session and submission of all required tender documents

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying social relief materials or similar procurement projects
• Capacity to meet technical specifications and delivery deadlines
• Ability to provide valid and compliant documentation (e.g., CSD registration, SARS PIN, municipal rates certificates)
• Understanding of procurement policies and compliance with municipal SCM regulations
• Capability to adhere to quality standards and specifications as outlined in the tender
