Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to hire a compactor truck for solid waste management services within Breede Valley Municipality. The service aims to ensure efficient waste collection and disposal by providing a suitable compactor truck along with an operator, meeting the municipality's operational needs.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of a 20 cubic meter (m³) rear-end loading compactor truck with operator for a total of 270 hours.
• Operational coverage in Worcester and Rawsonville areas during November and December 2025.
• All costs related to the delivery, operation, maintenance, insurance, and consumables are included in the quotation.
• Provision of proof of previous relevant contracts, including references and contract details.
• Adherence to specified operational hours, safety, and insurance requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements for the tender include:

• The compactor truck must have a capacity of 20m³ with rear-end loading capability.
• The vehicle must be fully licensed, roadworthy, and compliant with all legal and safety standards.
• The operator must possess a valid driver’s license or operator certificate.
• The service must include maintenance and insurance costs, with breakdown and repair provisions.
• Operators are required to maintain accurate time sheets, and all vehicles must be fully insured with a minimum of R2 million public liability coverage.
• Operational hours are weekdays from 08:00 to 12:30 and 13:00 to 16:30, with flexibility for after-hours requests.
• All breakdowns, accidents, and incidents must be reported promptly, and the service provider must ensure minimal downtime.
• Costing must be inclusive of all applicable taxes, and the unit price should cover all related expenses.
