Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to facilitate the addition of a security hut at the Natalia Building, ensuring enhanced security infrastructure in line with departmental standards and safety requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, and installation of a security hut in the -1 Basement South Tower (Jabu Ndlovu Street exit) of the Natalia Building. It encompasses all related civil, structural, electrical, and finishing works as specified in the detailed specifications and Bill of Quantities. The scope also covers compliance with safety standards, site inspections, and post-installation guarantees.

Technical Requirements

• Construction of a security hut with a minimum CIDB grading of 1GB or above.
• Use of approved, new, and unused materials, including aluminium profiles, toughened glass (6mm tinted), and galvanised conduit.
• Installation of electrical components such as conduit, cables, LED lighting, switches, sockets, and circuit breakers as specified.
• Preparation of the floor for vinyl tiles, including filling and sanding cracks and holes.
• Application of Marley PVC vinyl tiles (blue, 2.5mm thick) as per manufacturer’s specifications.
• Provision of a guard hut distribution board with proper labelling and certification.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, SABS standards, and departmental policies.
• Completion within four weeks from the date of award, with mandatory site inspections and testing.
• Guarantee of workmanship and materials for a minimum period of six months post-completion.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified civil and structural contractors with CIDB grading of 1GB or higher.
• Licensed electricians with proven experience in electrical installations and wiring.
• Carpenters and joiners with trade test certification and experience in constructing security structures.
• Skilled laborers familiar with installation of aluminium fixtures, vinyl flooring, and civil works.
• Project management personnel capable of coordinating site activities, safety compliance, and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and adherence to SABS standards.
