Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a suitably accredited service provider to deliver specific training courses related to alien invasive species control on municipal property. The training aims to enhance the skills of municipal employees involved in alien plant clearing activities, ensuring they are competent in invasive species management and related safety procedures.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of accredited training courses in English for up to 20 participants per session.
• Training to cover various modules such as basic occupational health and safety, chainsaw operation, herbicide application, fire fighting, first aid, and other relevant areas.
• Courses to be delivered within 6 months of contract award, with multiple sessions possible depending on demand and venue availability.
• Training materials, certificates, and necessary equipment or PPE to be provided by the supplier.
• Pricing to include all costs (training materials, stationery, certification, VAT), excluding venue hire (which will be provided by the municipality).

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of training in English, suitable for both first and second-language English speakers.
• Delivery of training that results in a SETA certification indicating the NQF Level.
• Submission of a certified copy of the SETA accreditation certificate.
• Preparation of a detailed course outline, including full duration, practical focus time, and competency assessment.
• Provision of an itemized price per trainee, inclusive of all costs and VAT.
• Completion of the training within 6 months of appointment.
• Signing a Service Level Agreement with the municipality upon award.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Experience in delivering accredited environmental or invasive species management training.
• Proven track record of conducting similar projects, supported by references and previous project documentation.
• Capability to provide qualified trainers with relevant expertise and SETA accreditation.
• Ability to prepare and deliver comprehensive training programs that meet SETA and NQF standards.
• Competence in providing training materials, certificates, and assessment tools.
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively train diverse participants.
