Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the annual maintenance and servicing of kitchen equipment and LPG gas systems in the hospital setting, specifically at Ladysmith Regional Hospital. The aim is to ensure that all kitchen appliances and gas systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with standards, thereby supporting hospital operations and patient care.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Providing an annual service for kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, conveyor belts, food mixers, tilting pans, deep fryers, electric stoves, steam ovens, band saws, potato peelers, steam pots, vegetable slicers, food processors, Hydroboils, gas stoves, and extractor canopies.
• Servicing LPG gas systems within the hospital premises.
• Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections as per the specifications and schedules provided.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards through regular checks and documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to detailed specifications for each equipment type, including size, material, and operational standards.
• Performing checks such as electrical connections, oil levels, leak detection (steam, water, gas), and safety features.
• Inspection and cleaning of filters, belts, motors, and ducts.
• Replacement of worn or faulty parts with approved spares.
• Provision of detailed maintenance reports, certificates of service, and compliance documentation.
• Ensuring all equipment and systems meet the relevant SABS/SANS standards and are approved for use.
• Providing necessary documentation including invoices, service reports, and certificates of compliance.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The skills required for bidders include:

• Qualified technicians with experience in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and LPG gas systems.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and gas safety standards.
• Ability to perform detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of kitchen appliances.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical specifications and manuals.
• Capability to produce detailed maintenance reports and certificates.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to hospital environments.
• Proven track record in servicing similar equipment in healthcare or large institutional settings.
