Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure annual servicing of the hospital's standby plant oxygen and nitrogen systems to ensure their proper functioning, safety, and compliance with standards. The service aims to inspect, maintain, and calibrate all related equipment, including safety valves, pressure gauges, changeover systems, and safety switches, to guarantee reliable operation in case of main plant failure.

Scope

The scope encompasses the comprehensive servicing of all oxygen, nitrous oxide, and medical air plants within Ladysmith Hospital. Specific tasks include:

• Inspecting and cleaning all units
• Checking system pressures and operation of changeover systems
• Verifying lead and lag systems are operational
• Inspecting pig tails and leakages
• Adjusting pressure reducing valves and recalibrating gauges as needed
• Checking and setting safety valves and changeover switches
• Ensuring electrical panels, alarms, and indicator lamps are functional
• Completing service schedules for each unit
• Only qualified personnel will perform the work, and all work must adhere to health department standards

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Inspection and cleaning of all oxygen, nitrous, and medical air systems
• Verification of system pressures and operational status
• Calibration and adjustment of pressure gauges and safety valves
• Testing and ensuring all changeover and lead-lag systems are operational
• Checking and adjusting pressure reducing valves
• Inspection of pig tails, leaks, and safety valves
• Recalibration of gauges if necessary
• Ensuring electrical components, alarms, and indicator lamps are functioning correctly
• Filling service schedules for each unit serviced
• Work must be performed by qualified technicians and in accordance with health standards
