Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an annual service for steel elevated water tanks and Jojo tanks at KwaDabeka CHC and associated clinics. The service includes cleaning, inspection, repairs, coating, corrosion mitigation, and ensuring tanks are maintained in good operational condition, with an emphasis on promoting local enterprise participation in the catchment area.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply, delivery, installation, and testing of necessary materials and equipment.
• Cleaning, flushing, and inspection of steel elevated tanks and Jojo tanks.
• Repair of tanks, including coating repairs and corrosion mitigation measures.
• Cleaning and repair of rainwater tanks and gutters.
• Mechanical and plumbing servicing, including high-pressure washing and repairs.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards as per relevant regulations.
• Site visits, site inspections, and mandatory briefing sessions.
• Promotion of enterprises located within the catchment area for work to be done.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Supply and installation of 5000L steel water tanks with pumps and controllers, connected to water mains.
• Cleaning of tanks using high-pressure jets, rinsing, and inspection with photographic evidence before and after.
• Servicing of rainwater tanks, gutters, and associated piping, ensuring tanks are free of dirt and leaks.
• Repair of tanks, including coating touch-ups and corrosion mitigation, possibly including cathodic protection.
• Mechanical servicing such as high-pressure washing, repairs, and coating repairs.
• Preparation of detailed service reports, safety plans, and compliance documentation.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including PPE, hazard notices, and incident reporting.

Skills and Competency Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in tank cleaning, repair, and maintenance, with references to similar projects.
• Qualified personnel, including safety officers, with relevant certifications and training in occupational health and safety.
• Capability to supply and install water tanks, pumps, and associated plumbing and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of corrosion protection, coating application, and repair techniques.
• Compliance with all legal, health, safety, and environmental standards, including submission of valid safety and compliance documentation.
• Ability to work within specified timeframes, with sufficient staffing and resources to complete the contract within two weeks.
• Capacity to promote local enterprise participation as per the RDP goals.
