Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for the supply and delivery of water to specified storage tanks and reservoirs at the National Institute for Occupational Health (NIOH). The service involves providing water on an as-and-when-required basis for a period of 36 months, ensuring continuous access to potable water in designated tanks and reservoirs.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply and delivery of water to two 5,000-litre JoJo tanks, one 10,000-litre JoJo tank, and a 20,000-litre reservoir.
• Provision of water on an as-and-when-required basis over a period of 36 months.
• Delivery to be made up to three times per month or as required.
• Ensuring water quality standards are met, including testing for physical, aesthetic, and microbiological parameters.
• Compliance with relevant legislation and standards for potable water quality.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Provision of water into the specified tanks and reservoirs, with delivery vehicles registered under the bidder's name or lease agreement.
• Water tanker registration certificates and valid driver’s licenses with PrDP (minimum Code EC or higher).
• Proof of commitment to deliver water within 24 hours in emergency situations.
• Water must meet SANS241:2015 standards or better, and comply with South African water quality guidelines.
• Water tanks and delivery vehicles must be tested quarterly for compliance and maintained in good condition.
• Methodology for cleaning and sterilizing tanks monthly.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying potable water to similar large-scale clients or institutions.
• Capability to deliver water reliably within tight timeframes, including emergency response within 24 hours.
• Provision of qualified personnel, including drivers with valid licenses and PrDP permits.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to water delivery and tank maintenance.
• Ability to provide documentation such as registration certificates, test reports, and reference letters from previous clients.
