Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for the supply and delivery of water to specified storage tanks and reservoirs at the National Institute for Occupational Health (NIOH) on an as-and-when-required basis over a period of 36 months. The service aims to ensure continuous access to potable water through the provision of two 5,000-litre JoJo tanks, one 10,000-litre JoJo tank, and a 20,000-litre reservoir.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply and delivery of potable water to specified tanks and reservoirs at NIOH.
• Provision of water on an as-and-when-required basis for a duration of 36 months.
• Delivery of water into the tanks and reservoirs, including ad-hoc usage for emergency shutdowns or repairs.
• Compliance with water quality standards and regular testing to ensure safety and potability.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and mandatory requirements include:

• Provision of water tankers with a minimum capacity of 10,000 litres and 20,000 litres, registered under the company's or director’s name or via lease agreement.
• Valid driver’s license with a professional driving permit (PrDP), minimum Code EC or higher.
• Water must meet South African water quality standards (SANS241:2015 or better), be tested quarterly, and reported accordingly.
• Water tankers must be capable of delivering potable water within 24 hours in case of emergencies.
• Water must be sourced from suppliers with proven experience in delivering potable water, with references from previous clients.
• Methodology for cleaning and sterilizing tanks monthly must be provided.
• Water must comply with South African water quality legislation and standards for potable water.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Capability to supply potable water that meets national standards.
• Experience in managing water delivery services, including handling water tankers and storage tanks.
• Qualified personnel with valid driver’s licenses and necessary permits.
• Ability to perform regular testing and reporting of water quality.
• Provision of reliable logistics and timely delivery, including emergency response capabilities.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
