Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to deliver comprehensive cleaning services at the Amathole District: Mnquma Area Office (BTC) and Centane Services Office for a period of twelve (12) months. The aim is to ensure hygienic, well-maintained, and safe working environments through specified cleaning tasks, waste management, and related services.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of cleaning services across various facilities, including offices, entrance halls, toilets, kitchens, vehicles, passages, and gardens. Specific tasks include:

• Daily cleaning: sweeping, washing, scrubbing, dusting, wiping surfaces, emptying waste bins
• Weekly cleaning: deep cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, and high surfaces
• Monthly cleaning: polishing floors, walls, and fixtures
• Specialized cleaning: carpet deep cleaning, vehicle cleaning, and disinfecting toilets and hand basins
• Waste removal and disposal, including sanitary bins
• Gardening and site maintenance, including debris removal, grass cutting, and vegetation trimming
• Supply of consumables such as toilet paper and sanitary bins

The service provider must verify building sizes, provide necessary equipment, and ensure staff are appropriately uniformed and equipped with PPE.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of all cleaning equipment and consumables, maintained in safe and functional condition
• Adherence to specified cleaning frequencies and standards as detailed in the specifications
• Responsible waste management, including daily refuse removal and disposal
• Supply of 2-ply, SABS-approved toilet paper (4 rolls per official per month)
• Provision of cleaning staff, who must be neatly dressed in branded uniforms with PPE
• Verification of building sizes prior to quotation submission
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards

Skills Requirements

• Experience in providing cleaning services on a contractual basis, with proof of at least six (6) months of relevant experience
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
• Knowledge of hygiene standards, waste management, and safety protocols
• Capacity to manage and supervise cleaning staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards
• Competence in site verification, planning, and reporting
• Ability to support local economic development by sourcing staff and supplies locally
