Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a professional service provider to carry out electrification works in Karatara, including the electrification of informal and formal houses. The project aims to enhance electrical infrastructure, ensure safety through proper protection and earthing, and facilitate reliable electricity supply to the community.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Design and installation of electrical systems for electrification in Karatara.
• Provision of electrical protection, earthing, and related infrastructure.
• Milestone-based payments linked to approved deliverables.
• Additional services such as surveys and environmental assessments, if required.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the project include:

• Compliance with electrical engineering standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in design and construction management of electrical projects, with at least 3-4 relevant projects completed within the last 10 years.
• Registration of key personnel with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA):
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) – 10 points
• Pr Tech Eng – 5 points
• Proof of registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and CESA registration.
• Adherence to environmental and safety standards.
• Ability to present and demonstrate proposed equipment or services if requested.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Qualified electrical engineers with valid registration certificates.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure projects, evidenced by reference letters and completion certificates.
• Knowledge of local regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
• Ability to provide technical presentations and demonstrations if required.
• Proficiency in project management, including milestone-based delivery and reporting.
