Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for building a concrete plinth and installing water tanks. The scope includes supplying materials, constructing the concrete foundation, mounting the water tanks securely with stainless steel anchors, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications to facilitate water storage at GJ Crookes Hospital.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply of materials including concrete, water tanks, stainless steel anchors, and related components.
• Construction of a 5,000m x 12,500mm x 300mm concrete plinth.
• Supply and installation of water tanks with specified capacity and features.
• Mounting water tanks securely on the prepared foundation using stainless steel anchors.
• Provision of safety documentation and compliance with technical standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Concrete must be supplied by a Ready Mix company, with specific dimensions (5,000m x 12,500mm x 300mm) and footers (600mm x 600mm).
• Build a Y-12 steel cage of 300mm x 300mm, tied with Y-12 steel mesh with 250mm gaps.
• Water tanks must be 10,000 liters capacity, with a diameter of 2,200mm, height of 3,150mm, and a lid of 480mm clip-on type.
• Water tanks should be made of virgin LLDPE, UV-stabilized, BPA-free, food-grade, with a black inner layer, and designed for outdoor durability.
• Tank installation must be on a sound, level, and smooth surface, with provisions for concrete plinths or proper tank stands.
• Mounting must be secure using stainless steel anchors and tension ropes.
• All work must be completed within the stipulated time frame, starting promptly after contract award.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• CIDB grading of GB (General Building) to ensure capability in construction projects.
• Experience in concrete work, including foundation and reinforcement (steel cage construction).
• Expertise in water tank installation, particularly with polyethylene tanks and secure mounting techniques.
• Knowledge of safety standards and ability to prepare safety files and documentation.
• Capability to complete the project within the specified timeframe, demonstrating project management skills.
• Compliance with technical specifications and quality standards for durable water storage solutions.
