Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to calibrate three benchtop centrifuges, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with safety standards. The calibration aims to maintain optimal performance of the centrifuges and ensure reliable laboratory operations.

Scope

The scope includes the calibration of the following centrifuges:

• Sorvall GLC-4 Bench top centrifuge (Serial number: 8206921, no refrigeration) – 3 units
• Sigma Bench top centrifuge (Serial number: 132952, no refrigeration) – 1 unit

The service provider must provide calibration stickers with essential information, calibration certificates, and ensure proper engagement with department personnel before commencing work. The calibration process must include signing off of job cards/service reports by both the service representative and OBP personnel.

Technical Requirements

• The service provider must be SANAS accredited and provide proof of certification.
• Calibration stickers on centrifuges must include calibration date, expiry date, and equipment identification.
• Calibration certificates must be supplied upon completion.
• A safety file must be submitted to the safety officer prior to starting work.
• Engagement with the department head is required before work begins.
• Job cards or service reports must be signed off by both the service provider and OBP personnel before leaving the site.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• The service provider must be SANAS accredited.
• Personnel performing calibration must be qualified and experienced in calibration procedures for laboratory centrifuges.
• Ability to provide detailed calibration certificates and stickers with relevant information.
• Capability to prepare and submit safety documentation and engage professionally with department staff.
