Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a supplier to provide 6,000 cartons of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) Clone 13 vaccine display cartons, ensuring compliance with specified technical and quality standards. The supplier must deliver the cartons within five days of receiving batch number and expiry date information, supporting the vaccine packaging and distribution process.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of 6,000 cartons of RVF Clone 13 vaccine (Item Code: DC2213), with detailed specifications for carton material, printing, die-cutting, perforations, and labeling requirements. The cartons are intended for vaccine display purposes and must meet the detailed technical and quality standards outlined in the specifications. Additional requirements may be specified by the Sales department as needed, including delivery timelines and language considerations.

Technical Requirements

• Carton Material: SBS (Cellulose) solid bleach sulphate, virgin board, with specified dimensions (82mm x 54mm x 92.5mm).
• Pre-cut creasing lines, longitudinal and cross sealing, with machine varnish (matte finish, no varnish/laminating on bottom flap).
• Perforations for gluing, unprinted and unpainted areas, with specific printing areas for batch number, expiry date, and reference numbers.
• Printing: Pantone colours to be used as per product requirements, with space allocated for batch and expiry printing.
• Die specifications: Include perforating rulings, pre-cuts on all crease lines, and special perforations to facilitate machine packaging.
• Glue leakage must be minimal, with cartons delivered flat in bundles of 50, wrapped in paper (no rubber bands).
• Labeling: External labels with reference number, batch number, and expiry date must be affixed as specified.
• Certificate of Conformance (C of C): Must accompany all consignments, confirming specifications, supplier results, and approval by QA.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in manufacturing cartons according to detailed technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in printing with Pantone colours and applying labels accurately.
• Capability to produce die-cut cartons with perforations, pre-cuts, and special sealing features.
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes, including adherence to Certificate of Conformance standards.
• Ability to deliver products within specified timelines, with proper packaging and labeling.
• Understanding of procurement procedures, including submission of compliant documentation and adherence to supplier declaration requirements.
