Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a supplier to provide cartons for the Rift Valley Fever (RVF) Clone 13 vaccine, specifically 100 ml combo display cartons, in accordance with the specified technical and quality standards.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of:

• 6000 cartons of the specified design and specifications for RVF Clone 13 vaccine.
• Additional cartons as required by the Sales department.
• Delivery of cartons within five (5) days after receipt of batch number and expiry date details.

The scope also encompasses compliance with detailed technical specifications, artwork, and packaging requirements as outlined in the supplier specifications documentation.

Technical Requirements

The cartons must meet the following specifications:

• Material: SBS (Cellulose) solid bleach sulphate, virgin board, ground wood pulp, or wastepaper.
• Dimensions: 82 mm (L) x 54 mm (W) x 92.5 mm (H) ± 0.25 mm.
• Pre-cut on creasing line, with longitudinal and cross machine varnish (mat finish, no varnish/laminating on bottom flap).
• Pre-break at 140-180 degrees, flattened prior to gluing.
• Product bar code to be affixed on top and bottom of the unprinted carton.
• Perforated for gluing, unprinted, unpainted, with special perforating ruling on creases.
• Die cut, creased, glued, and delivered flat in bundles of 50, wrapped in paper (no rubber bands).
• Glue flap centered, face-up on the right side.
• Labeling: Batch number, reference number, edition number, and expiry date to be printed on designated areas.
• Printing: Pantone colors to be used as per product requirements.
• Certificate of Conformance (C of C) required with details of specifications, in-house test results, and supplier information.
• Additional requirements include no excess glue leakage and adherence to approved artwork and drawings.

Skills and Compliance Requirements

The supplier must demonstrate:

• Ability to produce cartons that meet the detailed technical and quality specifications.
• Compliance with the technical drawings, artwork, and printing requirements.
• Provision of a Certificate of Conformance prior to printing, confirming adherence to specifications.
• Delivery within the specified timeframe of five days post receipt of batch and expiry details.
• Submission of all required documentation, including BBBEE certificates if claiming preference points.
• Adherence to procurement procedures and submission via the designated procurement portal or specified email channels.
