Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified contractor for the reinstatement of a recently disturbed Concrete V-Drain along Nekkies R339. The scope involves reconstructing the V-Drain to restore its function for stormwater runoff management following disturbance caused by the construction of a Main Sewer Outfall Pipe.

Scope

• Reinstatement of the Concrete V-Drain along Nekkies R339 Road.
• Reconstruction of the V-Drain to enable clear passage of stormwater runoff.
• Compliance with relevant standards, including SANS 1200.
• Preparation and submission of site safety and traffic control plans prior to commencement.
• Inclusion of all necessary construction activities such as excavation, concrete works, and reinstatement of asphalt where applicable.

Technical Requirements

• Bidders must be registered with CIDB Grade 1 or higher; registration is mandatory for evaluation.
• Functionality assessment based on criteria such as company experience, staff qualifications, and equipment ownership, requiring a minimum of 24 out of 40 points to proceed.
• Adherence to the specifications for concrete (25 MPa), asphalt reinstatement (35mm Hot Mix), and other construction standards.
• Submission of a site safety plan and traffic management plan before starting work.
• Work to be completed within the validity period of 90 days from bid acceptance.
• Rates must include labor, supervision, transportation, profit, and attendance; no additional payments will be made beyond the quoted bill of quantities.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Company registration with CIDB Grade 1 or higher.
• Project team members must possess relevant qualifications:
  • Site Agent: NQF Level 5 qualification with at least 3 years’ experience.
  • Site Foreman: NQF Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Ownership of necessary equipment, such as a 1-ton bakkie, with proof of ownership.
• Demonstrated experience in similar projects, supported by completion certificates.
• Ability to comply with health and safety, traffic management, and environmental standards.
