Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to conduct electrical repairs, generate a comprehensive electrical survey report, and issue a Certificate of Compliance (COC) for the Nessie Knight Depot. The project aims to ensure electrical safety, compliance with standards, and proper documentation for the depot's electrical systems.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Inspection, testing, and surveying of the electrical installations at Nessie Knight Depot.
• Execution of repairs and upgrades as identified during the survey.
• Preparation of a detailed report outlining the survey findings, repairs undertaken, and recommendations.
• Issuance of an Electrical Certificate of Compliance (ECOC) upon completion.
• Work to be carried out in phases, including after-hours and weekend work to minimize operational disruptions.
• Provision of safety documentation and adherence to safety standards.
• Final measurement, site inspection, and certification processes.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Use of ISO 9001 accredited materials and products.
• Compliance with SANS10142 installation rules and relevant standards.
• All electrical work to be performed by registered electricians.
• Use of SABS approved circuit breakers, switches, and other electrical components.
• Proper labeling of new or replaced plugs, isolators, and switches.
• Installation of wiring from distribution boards with specified amperage and proper marking.
• Provision of a comprehensive safety file prior to commencement.
• Adherence to site-specific safety, health, and environmental protocols.
• Final inspection, testing, and certification to be conducted by qualified personnel.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

The tender mandates:

• Qualified and registered electricians with valid wireman licenses.
• Experience in electrical surveying, repairs, and compliance certification.
• Provision of at least three recent references for similar electrical work (not older than 3 years).
• CIDB registration with a grading level of 1 EB or higher.
• Ability to work after hours and over weekends as required.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards (SANS) and safety regulations.
• Capability to prepare detailed reports, certificates, and documentation as per project requirements.
• Provision of comprehensive safety files and adherence to occupational health and safety legislation.
