Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply fuel, gas, oils, and lubricants to Umgeni Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of essential consumables required for hospital operations, including garden services and equipment maintenance, in accordance with specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various petroleum products and lubricants, including petrol, two-stroke oil, grease, chain saw oil, and other related items as detailed in the specifications. The procurement covers both the technical and administrative aspects necessary to meet the hospital's requirements, with a once-off contract period. The products must conform to the detailed specifications provided and be delivered to Umgeni Hospital's premises within the stipulated timeframes.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of unleaded petrol 95, compliant with SABS standards.
• Provision of two-stroke oil meeting SAE J1536 Grade 2 and API TC performance standards, dyed blue for identification.
• Supply of grease, chain saw oil, and roundup herbicide with specified detailed specifications.
• All products must be new, unused, and of the latest models, free from defects, and conform to the relevant standards.
• Packaging must be appropriate to prevent damage during transit, with clear markings and documentation.
• Suppliers must provide samples if required and ensure products meet the specified quality standards.
• Delivery must be timely, with all necessary documentation, and products must be insured against loss or damage during transit.

Skills Requirements

• Ability to provide technical documentation and detailed specifications for all supplied products.
• Experience in supplying petroleum products and lubricants to institutional clients, demonstrated through references of previous similar contracts.
• Knowledge of compliance standards, including SABS approval and relevant safety and quality standards.
• Capacity to deliver products within the specified timeframe and in accordance with the hospital’s logistical requirements.
• Competence in handling administrative procedures such as completing official forms, providing tax and CSD compliance documents, and adhering to procurement policies.
