Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver hardware electrical materials and equipment to Rietvlei Hospital, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, standards, and safety regulations. The project aims to facilitate electrical infrastructure upgrades or maintenance within the hospital, supporting its operational needs.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of electrical hardware materials, including lighting, switches, cables, circuit breakers, earth leakages, and other electrical components.
• Provision of electrical tools and equipment required for installation and maintenance.
• Carrying out electrical work on-site at Rietvlei Hospital, including installation, commissioning, and ensuring all work is in serviceable condition.
• Adherence to safety standards, quality specifications, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards such as SABS, SANS, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Completion of work within a stipulated contract period of one week, with a minimum guarantee period of three months for materials and work.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Supply of specified electrical materials such as fluorescent tubes, LED bulbs, switches, sockets, cables, circuit breakers, earth leakages, and lighting fittings, as detailed in the specifications.
• Materials must conform to SABS or SANS standards and be approved for use in hospital electrical installations.
• Installation must comply with the South African Bureau of Standards Code of Practice, National Building Regulations, ICASA telecommunications regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• All electrical work must be certified with a "Certificate of Compliance" upon completion.
• Health and Safety Plan must be prepared, including risk assessments, to ensure safe working conditions during installation.
• Site work must minimize disruption to hospital operations and avoid damage to existing structures.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Competence in electrical installation, maintenance, and commissioning, with personnel fully conversant with relevant standards and safety regulations.
• CIDB compliance with a grading of at least 1GB or higher, or equivalent ISO certification.
• Ability to provide qualified electrical technicians or artisans with relevant experience in hospital or similar critical infrastructure projects.
• Provision of health and safety documentation, including a health and safety plan and risk assessments.
• Capability to supply approved electrical materials and tools, with proof of compliance and certification.
• Experience in executing projects within tight timeframes, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained throughout.
