Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply, hire, and service hygiene units across various restrooms at the Port of Saldanha for a period of 36 months. The service aims to ensure hygienic conditions, proper waste disposal, and maintenance of hygiene facilities in accordance with statutory and environmental standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of hygiene units and associated services at multiple locations within the port, including restrooms in buildings, tug boats, pilot boats, and work boats. Specific units include touch-free pedal bins, sanitary towel and toilet seat wipe dispensers, automatic air fresheners, touch-free soap dispensers, paper towel cabinets, wall-mounted bins, urinal sanitizers, and trolley wipe stands. The contract covers:

• Supply and installation of hygiene units.
• Regular servicing and maintenance of units.
• Waste collection and disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Provision of necessary consumables and replacement parts.
• Monitoring and reporting of service delivery.

The service is to be delivered over a 36-month period, with specific locations and quantities detailed in Schedule “A”.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of hygienic, functional, and compliant hygiene units as per specifications.
• Regular servicing schedules, including waste removal, unit refilling, and cleaning, with specified frequencies (e.g., monthly).
• Use of environmentally friendly waste disposal methods, including certified waste carriers and proper documentation of disposal certificates.
• Supply of consumables such as she packets, toilet seat wipes, foam soap, paper towels, and air fresheners.
• Maintenance of hygiene units to ensure operational efficiency and hygiene standards, including replacement of faulty units free of charge.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental legislation, including risk assessments, safety protocols, and staff training.
• Provision of a detailed work schedule, safety management plan, and environmental management plan prior to commencement.
• Compliance with security protocols, environmental regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
• Proper documentation, including SHE files, incident reports, and compliance certificates.
