Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure hygiene services for various facilities including EMS bases, mortuaries, and district offices within the KwaZulu-Natal province. The services aim to ensure health, hygiene, and sanitation standards are maintained across multiple locations over a contract period of 36 months, with an emphasis on compliance with safety and quality standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, and ongoing maintenance of hygiene-related equipment and consumables such as air fresheners, liquid hand soap dispensers, SHE bins, and automated hand sanitizers at specified facilities including:

• Madadeni Forensic Mortuary
• Newcastle Forensic Mortuary
• EMS district office and various EMS bases (e.g., Madadeni, Newcastle, Charlestown, Utrecht, Dannhauser)

The services include monthly replenishment, servicing, and disposal in accordance with environmental and health regulations, along with compliance with safety standards and specifications outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of hygiene services for a period of 36 months, including supply and installation of air fresheners, soap dispensers, SHE bins, and hand sanitizers.
• Adherence to specifications such as SABS approval, environmental disposal regulations, and safety standards.
• Regular monthly servicing and replenishment of hygiene equipment and consumables.
• Proper disposal of waste and used materials in compliance with the Environmental Act No 107 of 1998 and health guidelines.
• Provision of health and safety plans, risk assessments, and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993.
• Installation, refilling, and servicing of automated sanitizers and other hygiene equipment in designated areas.
• Attendance at contract monitoring meetings and submission of itemized billing and progress reports.

Skills Requirements

• Experience in providing hygiene and sanitation services in healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of environmental waste management and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to supply, install, and maintain hygiene equipment such as air fresheners, soap dispensers, and sanitizers.
• Capacity to perform regular servicing and timely replenishment of consumables.
• Competence in preparing health and safety documentation, risk assessments, and adherence to occupational safety standards.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with facility managers and participation in monitoring meetings.
