Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and install water Camlock fittings, hoses, stands, and associated components at Hlengisizwe CHC. The project aims to ensure proper water connection and supply infrastructure, including necessary mounting, piping, and safety measures, to facilitate water access and management within the facility.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of male and female Camlock fittings with 10-meter hoses and stainless steel connectors.
• Construction of mounting structures using galvanized steel I-beams and concrete foundations.
• Excavation of trenches for piping and mounting of water supply components.
• Installation of ball valves to control water flow and prevent backflow.
• Provision of necessary connex fittings (Tee’s, elbows, etc.) for connecting to existing water supply piping.
• Final disposal of waste and environmental rehabilitation.
• Site inspection, technical assessments, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All components must conform to SABS standards or equivalent B.S. or DIN standards, bearing the relevant marks where possible.
• Materials used must be approved by the maintenance supervisor before installation.
• All work must adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993, as amended.
• Construction must include excavation, concrete work, galvanizing, and proper mounting of fittings and structures.
• Disposal of refuse must be certified by an authorized landfill site, with environmental considerations addressed.
• All measurements and site assessments are the responsibility of the contractor, with site visits recommended prior to quotation.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Competence in plumbing, pipe fitting, and civil construction, with relevant CIDB grading (minimum 1GB & 1SO).
• Experience in installing water fittings, mounting steel structures, and trenching works.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and standards, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Capability to produce environmental disposal certificates and environmental rehabilitation documentation.
• Qualified personnel, including certified plumbers and builders, with proof of certification and experience.
• Capacity to manage project timelines, site safety, and environmental impact effectively.
